“The Great North” has officially been canceled by Fox following its five-season run, as reported by Variety.

“We are immensely grateful for the dedication and creativity that Wendy, Lizzie, Loren, and the entire cast and crew brought to ‘The Great North,’” commented Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network. “Saying farewell is never easy, but we appreciate the five wonderful seasons that ‘The Great North’ contributed to our beloved Animation Domination lineup.”

The animated series made its debut on the network in January 2021 and concluded its fifth and final season in September 2025. It was created and penned by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, who are known for their work on “Bob’s Burgers,” alongside writer Minty Lewis.

Executive producers and showrunners, the Molyneux sisters were joined by “Bob’s Burgers” creator Loren Bouchard as another executive producer. The series was a product of 20th Television Animation, with animation handled by Bento Box Entertainment.

The voice cast featured talents such as Nick Offerman, Jenny Slate, Will Forte, Paul Rust, Aparna Nancherla, Dulce Sloan, Megan Mullally, and Alanis Morissette.

The series followed “the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family, where single dad Beef (Offerman) strives to keep his kids close – especially his daughter, Judy (Slate), whose artistic aspirations pull her away from the family fishing business and into the vibrant local mall. The family also includes Judy’s older brother Wolf (Forte) and his wife Honeybee (Sloan), middle brother Ham (Rust), and 10-year-old Moon (Nancherla) who is wise beyond his years. Although their mother is absent, Judy finds guidance from her boss, Alyson (Mullally), and her imaginary friend, Alanis Morissette (voicing herself), who makes appearances through the Northern Lights.”

In April, Fox revealed that it had renewed the classic shows “The Simpsons,” “Family Guy,” and “Bob’s Burgers” for an additional four seasons each. Furthermore, “American Dad” is making a comeback to Fox for the 2025-2026 season, with a similar four-season renewal. Other animated offerings from Fox include “Krapopolis,” “Grimsburg,” and “Universal Basic Guys.”
