As news of the award spread, fans and fellow authors took to social media to congratulate Han on her achievement. The South Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism released a statement applauding her win, saying, “Through her work, Han Kang has broadened the horizon of Korean literature and enriched the global literary world.”

Many are excited to see what the future holds for Han Kang and Korean literature as a whole. With the spotlight now on her, Han’s powerful and thought-provoking writing is sure to reach an even wider audience, sparking conversations and connections across borders and cultures.
