Need another reason to forego the latest ‘Superman’ film? Here’s one: the filmmakers have opted to replace the hero’s legendary motto, “truth, justice, and the American way,” with “truth, justice, and the human way.”

This isn’t the first time Superman’s catchphrase has been tweaked. Back in 2021, it was rephrased to “truth, justice, and a better tomorrow.”

The recent alteration aligns neatly with the film’s narrative, which has a strong pro-immigration political stance—a choice the creators have openly acknowledged.

One of the cast members even suggested that dissenters of this messaging are somehow un-American.

Comicbook.com reported:

James Gunn’s Superman Changes “Truth, Justice, & the American Way” Catchphrase

Since his inception in the 1930s, Superman has embodied two core principles: “truth” and “justice.” These ideals are hard to dispute, particularly given his role as a moral compass for younger audiences. Occasionally, a third tenet has been added, with “the American Way” being the most notable, especially during World War II when it aimed to galvanize a nation facing adversity.

Over the decades, Superman has gradually moved away from “the American Way,” opting for phrases like “a Better Tomorrow” and “Peace for All Mankind.” However, under Gunn’s direction, the iconic hero’s third principle has now become “the Human Way.”

It’s quite evident why this shift is occurring.

There is no new Superman movie
There is an unfunny satire https://t.co/87BFPB8YdH

The Human Way sounds like a charity made up by George Costanza.

It’s all so tiresome.

And it’s a lie. What is the American Way is not the human way. The human way is butchery and barbarism. https://t.co/XezV4JQbs5

It seems that liberal Hollywood’s disdain for traditional American values is palpable. What other conclusion could one draw?
