Riverwater Partners, an investment management company, recently released its Q3 2025 investor letter detailing the performance of its Small Cap Strategy. While the Small Cap Core Strategy reported solid results for the quarter, it did not keep pace with the sharp rally in the market, lagging behind the benchmark. The market’s continued preference for lower-quality companies contributed significantly to the benchmark’s outperformance. Despite this, the Small Cap Strategy remains focused on higher-quality companies with enduring fundamentals, consistent revenue, and a clear path to profitability. The firm believes that the strategy is well-positioned for success in the challenging market environment.

In the investor letter, Riverwater Partners highlighted stocks such as Vestis Corporation (NYSE:VSTS), a uniform rental and workplace supplies provider. Vestis Corporation (NYSE:VSTS) saw a one-month return of 38.46% but had lost 53.07% of its value over the last 52 weeks. As of December 15, 2025, Vestis Corporation (NYSE:VSTS) closed at $7.56 per share, with a market capitalization of $996.913 million.

Riverwater Partners made the decision to exit its position in Vestis Corporation (NYSE:VSTS) due to concerns about the company’s turnaround timeline and debt overhang. The firm believes that the process of turning the business around could take longer than originally anticipated, and the burden of debt repayment may hinder the company’s ability to reinvest in its operations.

Vestis Corporation (NYSE:VSTS) is not among the 30 Most Popular Stocks Among Hedge Funds, with only 27 hedge fund portfolios holding the stock at the end of the third quarter. While Riverwater Partners recognizes the potential of Vestis Corporation (NYSE:VSTS) as an investment, the firm believes that certain AI stocks offer greater upside potential with less downside risk. For investors seeking opportunities in the AI sector, Riverwater Partners recommends exploring undervalued AI stocks that stand to benefit from current market trends.
