Juke Harris, a transfer guard from Wake Forest, is set to join Tennessee after committing to the Volunteers on Monday via the transfer portal. Over the past two seasons with the Demon Deacons, Harris emerged as the teamâs key player during the 2025-26 season.
The announcement of Harris’ move sparked varied reactions on social media, especially on X.

âSome chase rings. Others chase checks.â
Taylor commented:
âAll this just to miss the final four again.â
Chris Simpson expressed:
âI mean, I get the reason you get him, but I donât see how this really helps their roster. Theyâre built very similar to last yearâs UL team. Very thin up front.â
Steven Olson wrote:
âKidâs going to make his money. Good for him. Iâm sure itâs worth getting knocked out of the tournament in the first weekend.â
Silas Marner remarked:
âHeâs getting bad advice from someone. I wish him wellâŠâ
CJ added:
âOnly in the portal era are tier 2 players seen as elite players.â
Juke Harrisâ College Career Overview
Juke Harris is heading to Tennessee with two seasons of eligibility remaining. The 20-year-old guard had a breakout season last year, starting in all 35 games for the Demon Deacons. He led his team in scoring, averaging 21.4 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game, with shooting percentages of 44.4% from the field and 33.2% from three-point range.
Harris earned the ACC Most Improved Player of the Year award after his sophomore year, also securing a spot on the all-conference second team. This was a significant improvement from his freshman year, where he averaged only 6.1 points in 19 minutes per game.
After entering the transfer portal, Harris drew interest from top programs like Michigan and North Carolina. The 6â7â guard hails from Salisbury High School in North Carolina and was a four-star prospect.
Ranked No. 95 overall in the 2024 class by Rivals Industry Rankings, Harris initially joined the Demon Deacons. Now, he is set to become part of a Tennessee team under Rick Barnes, which concluded the 2025-26 season with a 25-12 record, reaching the Elite Eight. This marked the Volunteers’ third consecutive appearance in the Elite Eight, though they again missed the Final Four, losing to the Michigan Wolverines. With Harris’ addition, Tennessee aims to further bolster its lineup for the upcoming season.
