As we approach the end of 2025, we are not just bidding farewell to another year, but also closing the chapter on a significant nine-year cycle that began back in 2016. This period of transition can bring about major endings in our lives, such as breakups or the conclusion of a job, signaling the need for closure and reflection as we prepare for new beginnings in the coming year.

According to numerology, 2025 is a Universal Year 9, marking the end of a cycle and the beginning of a new one in 2026. Morgane Jorge, a personal development coach and founder of Stones Club, explains that this year serves as a time of integration, where we assess the lessons learned, acknowledge what no longer serves us, and make space for growth and transformation. Year 9 is a time for closure and release, paving the way for fresh opportunities in the year ahead.

Throughout 2025, we have been confronted with situations and relationships that have reached their limits, prompting us to reevaluate our priorities and let go of anything holding us back. This period of heightened awareness has forced us to confront stagnant energy, outdated beliefs, and unnecessary burdens, pushing us to rediscover our true essence and embrace authenticity.

To properly close out 2025 and welcome the energy of 2026, Jorge recommends a seven-step ritual for ending the year on a positive note:

1. Take stock: Reflect on what has nourished you, what has weighed you down, and what you want to leave behind in the past year.
2. Clear space: Declutter your environment to create a fresh start for the new cycle ahead.
3. Clarify intentions: Set intentions for the upcoming year and envision the person you want to become.
4. Make a first gesture: Take a small step towards your goals to kickstart the new cycle with initiative.
5. Practice gratitude: Express gratitude for the lessons learned and the growth experienced throughout the year.
6. Honor the passage: Mark the transition with a symbolic gesture, such as lighting a candle or writing a letter to your future self.
7. Rest for rebirth: Prioritize self-care and rest to recharge and prepare for the new beginning in 2026.

By following these steps, we can gracefully close out the year and embrace the fresh energy of a new cycle. As we bid farewell to 2025, let us release the past with gratitude and welcome the opportunities that lie ahead in the coming year.
