The Beck family has been thrust into further controversy following explosive allegations involving Noah Beck’s sister, Haley Beck, and an alleged inappropriate relationship with a student.
In 2020, Haley began her tenure as a full-time teacher at Centennial High School in Peoria, Arizona, after earning a degree in secondary education from Northern Arizona University. Close to five years later, she found herself under investigation for allegedly grooming a teenage student starting in December 2024 during his sophomore and junior years, according to RadarOnline.com.
Speculation about inappropriate relationships involving Haley and another teacher, Angela Burlaka, with the same student spread throughout the school community. In July 2025, the student’s grandmother reportedly found an explicit video Angela had allegedly sent to him on his phone and informed the authorities.
Subsequently, claims surfaced that Haley was engaged in a sexual relationship with the student. The police report indicated the student’s mother asserted she was aware her son had been “having s-x with a teacher named ‘Haley Beck.'”
Both teachers were placed on leave in August 2025, and Burlaka later voluntarily relinquished her Arizona teaching certificates amid the inquiry.
In a voluntary interview with investigators, Haley claimed she and the student initially bonded as “peers” before adjusting her description to a “teacher-student” relationship. She mentioned the student was “always” present in her classroom, and they communicated through Instagram during the summer break due to his emotional state over changing schools.
The officer noted in the 2025 report, “Haley said she felt like she and [the student] had a good student-teacher relationship, and he felt comfortable talking about issues with her.” According to Haley, they do not “follow” each other on Instagram.
Furthermore, Haley confirmed the student possessed her phone number.
The police report documented that Haley “denied ever trying to seek out [the student] or make any type of plan to meet up with him.”
When questioned about the allegations of an inappropriate relationship, Haley reportedly chuckled, suggesting she had a few ideas. She described the student as very sociable and popular at school, noting his skill with words when speaking to girls in class.
The officer asked Haley whether there was a sexual relationship with the student before and after he turned 18, to which she replied, “No.”
Haley firmly stated that the student had never visited her apartment and that their relationship never extended beyond the student-teacher dynamic.
The situation intensified into a major scandal when the Peoria Police Department filed an official report revealing numerous explicit and sexually suggestive communications between Haley and the unnamed student.
More than 20 pages of text messages obtained by Us Weekly included a flirtatious interaction on June 21, 2025. It detailed Haley allegedly offering the student $5 for each compliment he gave her. After the student sent five compliments about her outfit for a Post Malone concert, she reportedly sent him $25 through Apple Pay.
Later that night, they discussed Haley possibly visiting the student at his grandfather’s house. When Haley inquired about what they could do there, the student jokingly responded, “lol eat me idk.”
Haley allegedly replied, “Well ya duh but like what about your grandpa,” to which the student answered, “He’s almost 70 he’ll be asleep.”
The text messages also depicted Haley referring to the student as her “sugar baby” and revealed she completed his homework for him and allowed him to drive her car during their inappropriate relationship.
The investigation reportedly uncovered over 4,000 text messages exchanged between Haley and the student from June 21 to August 2, 2025.
Following the Peoria Unified School District’s “comprehensive internal investigation under the provisions of Title IX,” it was determined by the “decision maker” that Ms. Beck had groomed a student, leading to a sexual relationship, and her termination was recommended.
Haley was given the opportunity to request a hearing with the district to present her case by April 8 but was ultimately dismissed after not contesting the decision by the deadline.
On April 10, Haley’s attorney, Matthew Long of Long & Simmons Law, stated in a statement, “Ms. Beck respects the criminal justice process and looks forward to the conclusion of the investigation, which will reveal she committed no crimes. Like any individual subject to investigation, Ms. Beck is entitled to due process. We are confident that a complete review of the facts will confirm her innocence.”
Addressing the length of time it took to terminate Haley, district spokesperson Danielle Airey explained, “It took from November to March as we had to allow for the holiday breaks and the Title IX process to play out. Also, it takes time to outreach to victim(s), draft statements of charges, and allow for the 10 days that Ms. Beck has to request a hearing.”
The Chief Communications Officer further emphasized, “We encourage students, families, and staff to speak up about concerns so they can be quickly addressed. Our ongoing commitment is to be transparent, accountable, and to ensure every student feels safe and supported.”
The Maricopa County Attorney’s Office reported that Haley was under investigation for a potential pandering-related charge, defined as inducing another to engage in prostitution, while Angela might face a charge for allegedly providing obscene material to a minor. Both charges are felonies.
Initially, police recommended a single charge of pandering, but the case was sent back for “additional investigation.”
“These submittals are currently under review, and there is no timeline available for when a charging decision will be made,” a spokesperson informed People in April.
On May 1, the Peoria Police Department confirmed they were looking into allegations of a potential inappropriate relationship between Haley and a second student after they received a tip from a woman who based her claims on a TikTok video.
“We take it seriously, and we’re not leaving anything unturned,” a representative stated.
The interview with the reporting party was completed as of May 5, according to the police department.
“We are continuing to follow up on all leads,” they added. “We take all reports of potential criminal activity seriously and are working to determine the facts.”
The investigation remains ongoing, with police indicating there could be additional victims.
