Recent footage has surfaced that raises eyebrows about the performance of our elected officials and their commitment to U.S. taxpayers. On Wednesday, journalist and former congressional candidate Matthew Foldi captured a rather alarming scene during a House Energy and Commerce Committee hearing. As he panned his camera, he caught 71-year-old Rep. Debbie Dingell (D-MI) in a deep slumber, prompting viewers to wonder what could possibly be more boring than a congressional hearing.
One might speculate whether Dingell was simply in the midst of a particularly vivid dream or if the droning discussions lulled her into a peaceful nap.

As if that wasnât enough, Foldi then captured another Democratic Congresswoman dozing off at the same hearing. While Rep. Diana DeGette (D-CO) lamented the potential loss of federal funding for Planned Parenthood, her colleague Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-IL), aged 80, was seen blissfully unaware and napping away.
Schakowsky can be spotted on the far right side of the video, completely disengaged from the proceedings.

These scenes inevitably conjure memories of President Joe Biden’s own unintentional naps during his time in the Oval Office, a topic that the Gateway Pundit has scrutinized extensively regarding the 82-year-old leader.
Such disheartening images prompt a renewed discussion on the need for congressional term limitsâor at the very least, a practical age limit for members of Congress. After all, it may soon be the case that one of these representatives takes a ‘nap’ that becomes eternal.
Unfortunately, it appears that the allure of political power is too intoxicating for members of both parties to consider necessary reforms, let alone the well-being of the constituents they represent.
