Raoul’s Celebrates 50 Years with Moda Operandi and Chloë Sevigny
Amidst the plethora of dining options in Manhattan, one restaurant stands out for its half-century legacy. Raoul’s, a beloved SoHo mainstay, recently celebrated its 50th anniversary in collaboration with Moda Operandi and Chloë Sevigny, showcasing a perfect blend of French and American flair. The event featured a decadent dinner followed by a lively party at the bistro.
Guests gathered under the iconic tin ceiling, enjoying Grey Goose cocktails and champagne before settling into their seats for an intimate dining experience. Each table was adorned with custom Moda Domus ceramic ash trays and Warby Parker reading glasses, setting the stage for a memorable evening.
The meal began with exquisite offerings such as oysters bienville gratinées, warm goat cheese salad, and artichoke vinaigrette. The highlight of the night was the classic steak au-poivre, a favorite among patrons. As the food was savored, the room buzzed with excitement.
A surprise burlesque performance captivated the crowd, with celebrities like Jennifer Lawrence in attendance. Fashion designers Jackson Wiederhoeft and Christopher John Rodgers showcased their creativity by transforming paper tablecloths into works of art, while industry insiders mingled and conversed.
The feast continued with plates of steaks and endless servings of crispy frites. A massive tiramisu sheet cake, requiring three people to light the candles, was served on exclusive Moda Domus x Raoul’s dessert plates. Owners Guy and Karim Raoul raised a toast to the guests, expressing gratitude for 50 years of success.
As the night progressed, the party grew in size and energy. Notables adorned themselves with merchandise from the collaboration, including graphic 8th Story baseball caps and Les Tien apparel. Laughter and music filled the air as guests relished the festive atmosphere.
As the evening came to a close, guests spilled out onto the streets of SoHo, their hearts full from a night of celebration and camaraderie. Raoul’s had once again proven its enduring charm and culinary excellence, leaving a lasting impression on all who attended.
