The LA Chargers and quarterback Justin Herbert faced a tough 35-6 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Herbert, who had a career-low 81 passing yards, threw an interception and failed to record a touchdown pass in the game. Speaking to reporters after the match, Herbert took responsibility for his team’s defeat, acknowledging that he needed to play better.

Former LSU tackle Breiden Fehoko, who was previously cut by the Pittsburgh Steelers, expressed his frustration on Twitter, stating that Herbert shouldn’t shoulder all the blame and should start holding his teammates accountable as well.

While Herbert admitted to holding onto the ball too long during the game, he emphasized that the blame shouldn’t solely fall on him. The Chargers’ offensive line struggled to protect Herbert, allowing him to be pressured by the Jaguars’ defense. The team’s running game also failed to make an impact, further contributing to their loss.

LA coach Jim Harbaugh acknowledged the shortcomings of the offensive line and expressed the need for improvement in protecting the quarterback. The Chargers will have a chance to regroup during their Week 12 bye before facing the Las Vegas Raiders on November 30 at SoFi Stadium.

In terms of injuries, Herbert faced additional pressure and hits due to the absence of offensive tackles Rashawn Slater and Joe Alt. He was sacked twice by the Jaguars and took a hard hit from B.J. Green II in the second quarter, leading to a roughing the passer penalty. Despite being examined for a potential concussion, Herbert returned to the game but was eventually substituted out along with other starters in the fourth quarter.

Herbert and Harbaugh did not provide any injury updates after the game, but the team will use their bye week to recover and prepare for their upcoming matches. The quarterback and his teammates are focused on returning to full strength before their next game in Week 13.
