Kamala Harris recently began her national book tour for her memoir, 107 Days, which commenced with a well-attended event in New York City.

During her speech to an audience of almost 1,500 at Town Hall in Manhattan, Harris reflected on her close relationship with former First Lady Hillary Clinton, expressing gratitude for the mentorship and support Clinton provided during challenging times.

“Mentorship is a vital aspect of our careers. Some fortunate ones find it while others do not. In the realm of politics, we often seek guidance from those who have walked the path before us,” said Harris.

She went on to highlight Clinton’s commitment to uplifting others and pointed out that Clinton is a person who genuinely follows through on her beliefs.

While Harris didn’t explicitly mention Biden, her remarks contained hints of the complexities in her relationship with the current President.

As em>Radar has previously reported, the bond that once flourished between Biden and Harris has soured, a sentiment she openly shared in her memoir, expressing disappointment over his evolving demeanor toward her over time.

“My initial feelings towards him were warm and loyal, but over time, they became complicated due to feelings of hurt and disappointment,” she noted in her book.

She elaborated that the Biden she once knew and felt close to transformed after he assumed office.

“Initially, we were welcomed as part of the Biden family, but there seemed to be a shift once the election was won,” she revealed.

In the early phases of her campaign, Harris recognized her need to assert her own identity and voice. Initially, her speeches heavily featured commendations for Biden, who is currently facing health challenges.

“For the first part of my campaign, I would spend a significant portion of my speeches praising him. However, my campaign strategists eventually suggested I shift focus to my own vision,” Harris recalled. “David Plouffe, who was instrumental in Obama’s campaign, bluntly stated, ‘People dislike Joe Biden,’ prompting me to adapt my approach.”
