Karlie Kloss has officially embraced the whirlwind of motherhood for the third time, following the arrival of her latest addition.
“This past week has been an explosion of love and adjustment,” Kloss, age 33, shared with her followers on Instagram on September 28. She paired her reflections with a series of tender images featuring her newborn, Rae.
In one particularly candid moment, Kloss is seen balancing the chaos of new parenthood by wearing a shiny silver sheet mask while breast-feeding Rae. Not one to shy away from a photo op, she threw up a peace sign and offered a playful pout to the camera.
âFeeling extra grateful,â she added when posting another snapshot with Rae in her Instagram Stories.
Kloss welcomed her daughter Rae Florence on September 18.
âWelcome to the world, Rae Florence!â she expressed excitedly through Instagram just days later on September 21.
Rae joins the couple’s two sons, Levi and Elijah, born in 2021 and 2023 respectively. Kloss and her husband, Joshua Kushner, have been together since 2012 and stepped into marriage in 2018.
In her approach to fame, Kloss expressed a desire for some privacy, stating, “Itâs not that I aim to conceal my personal life, but rather, I see value in keeping certain aspects private. As Carolina Herrera wisely noted, ‘A woman whoâs an open book is boring.’ Thereâs an allure in mystery, and I cherish what genuinely matters beyond the public eye,â she shared with Porter magazine.
Since their marriage, the coupleâs transition into parenthood has been nothing short of transformative. Kloss remarked about raising her family, âNot to be clichĂ©, but my entire world has changed, and in the most beautiful ways,â during a 2024 interview with Bustle. âThere are days I catch myself looking in the mirror, topped with last nightâs mascara, and realize that self-care no longer plays the starring role in my life.â
She acknowledged the evolution of her self-care habits, explaining, âItâs become more streamlined, perhaps even a bit neglected, but in the grand scheme, thatâs perfectly acceptable. Iâm savoring this stage of life, as the challenges have undoubtedly made me a better person.â
Beyond her adaptation to motherhood, Kloss also noted the shift in her professional mindset. âAs a businesswoman, I’ve honed my ability to make quicker decisions, a common scenario among many working mothers,â she reflected. âLife, particularly when children are involved, is filled with unexpected twists. However, those very surprises usher in remarkable growth.â
In addition to her modeling pursuits, Kloss runs Bedford Media and organizes the annual Kode With Klossy camp, aimed at helping young girls learn to code.
âI’ve viewed my fashion career primarily as a springboard,â she stated on a recent episode of the âThe Burnoutsâ podcast. âIt provided me with an extraordinary financial opportunity that I didn’t have when I entered the industry, and it facilitated access to a wider world that I eagerly embraced.â
She added, âModeling was not merely a path I opened but rather a door that swung wide for me almost overnight, and I spent a good deal of time navigating that sudden change.â
