Karmelo Anthony, the teenager from Texas who stands accused of fatally stabbing 17-year-old football star Austin Metcalf, has been relocated to an undisclosed location in order to guarantee his safety. This decision was made after reports surfaced that Anthony had been receiving death threats while under house arrest.

According to a report by FOX4, Anthony’s family expressed grave concern over the weekend due to an alarming increase in threats and harassment. They revealed that individuals had been loitering outside their home, sending Metcalf’s obituary through the mail, and even making false food deliveries in an attempt to intimidate and provoke fear.

The Next Generation Action Network, representing Anthony’s family, stated that these actions had prompted the court to approve the move to ensure his immediate safety. The group condemned the hate and bigotry that was being directed towards the family, emphasizing that no family should have to endure such harassment simply for demanding their constitutional rights.

Dominique Alexander, a minister working with the group, issued a statement saying, “It is both heartbreaking and infuriating to see the depths of hate and bigotry still alive and well in our society. We will not be silent, and we will not back down.”

Anthony had been confined to a gated community in Frisco following his release on bail after being arrested on a first-degree murder charge in connection to the track meet slaying of Metcalf. The incident allegedly occurred when Metcalf asked Anthony to move from underneath his school’s pop-up tent during a rain delay at the meet, leading to Anthony stabbing Metcalf in the chest.

In addition to the threats, Anthony’s family representatives attributed a recent rally in Frisco as a contributing factor to the decision to relocate him for safety reasons.

The situation escalated further with the circulation of fliers promoting a protest with messages like “Protect White Americans” and “Stop black violence on white Americans.” Jeff Metcalf, the victim’s father, criticized the demonstration, labeling the participants as “race baiters” who were only interested in pushing their own agenda rather than genuinely caring about the families involved.

In conclusion, the ongoing developments in the case of Austin Metcalf’s stabbing death continue to unfold, highlighting the complexities and challenges faced by all parties involved.
