With nineteen signature shoes to his name, Kevin Durant continues to captivate Nike Basketball. The KD19 stands out with a unique design that doesnât lean on past models. Unlike the KD17 and KD18, which drew inspiration from earlier Nike styles, the KD19 boasts its own bold and aggressive identity, reflecting Durantâs persona.
Durant unveiled the KD19 on March 16 during a game against the Los Angeles Lakersâwell ahead of its official release. By the end of the game, the sneaker community was abuzz. Durant himself said: âWith the KD19, I wanted everyone who put it on to have the confidence to hit that big shot when you need to. This shoe allows you to get in your rhythm, get to your spot, and knock it down.â
Following the on-court debut, Nike Basketball officially introduced the KD19, revealing all its features and design elements. The shoe will be available exclusively on SNKRS on June 13, 2026, before a global release on June 17. Priced at $155, the KD19 is poised to make an impact.

The KD19 is distinguished by an exterior TPU dagger along the upper, adding both style and functionality. This is achieved through a dual-injection process: the first injection ensures heel and midfoot stability, while the second creates the distinctive dagger shape. This design is both practical and visually striking, drawing attention even when the shoe is on display.
Nike has minimized the Swoosh branding at the forefoot, allowing the TPU structure to stand out. The shoe also features a breathable textile tongue for comfort during play. Subtle personal touches include an outsole traction pattern that incorporates Durantâs jersey numbers, 35 and 7, linking the shoe to his career without being overt.
The Tech: A Cushioning System Built for Durantâs Game
While style is important, the KD19 excels in its underfoot engineering, designed specifically for Durantâs playing style. It brings back the full-length Zoom Strobel, a sought-after Nike Basketball technology first used in the KD12, known for its exceptional feel. This return is likely to attract fans who appreciated its predecessor.
Accompanying the Zoom Strobel is a 3D-molded sock liner, a comfortable Cushlon 3.0 midsole, and a midfoot shank for enhanced stability throughout the game. This combination of responsiveness and support suits a player like Durant, who relies on quick movements and shooting from any location on the court.
Ross Klein, VP and Creative Director of Nike Basketball, aptly summarized the shoe: âAcross basketball, few players are as smooth or as dangerous from anywhere on the court as Kevin Durant. The KD19 embodies that edge: visually distinct, built for instant responsiveness and all-game comfort, helping players get to any spot and knock down any shot.â
What to Know Before the June Drop

Although the KD19 made an early appearance on the court, its retail launch dates remain unchanged. The shoe will be released on the Nike SNKRS app on June 13, 2026, followed by a worldwide release on June 17. Enthusiasts are advised to set notifications early to secure their pair.
Six colorways are confirmed for the KD19âs 2026 lineup: Bright Ceramic, Gorge Green, Photo Blue, Field Purple, University Red, and Hyper Pink, offering options for every taste. The first release will be the Bright Ceramic. Additionally, Durantâs lifetime contract with Nike, signed in April 2023, ensures this collaboration continues. The KD19 signals a promising future for basketball footwear, with Durant keeping Nike on its toes.
