Keyshawn Johnson Sues NFL Agent for $1 Million in Finder’s Fees

Published on May 28, 2025 12:30 AM PDT

Keyshawn Johnson has filed a lawsuit against NFL agent Chris Ellison, alleging that Ellison owes him nearly $1 million for referring clients to him. The lawsuit, which was filed in Los Angeles and obtained by TMZ Sports, states that Johnson and Ellison made a deal about ten years ago. In this agreement, Johnson agreed to recommend players to be represented by Ellison in exchange for a percentage of the NFL contracts they received.

According to the lawsuit, Johnson was supposed to receive one-third of the three percent commission that Ellison earned from the players’ salaries. However, Johnson claims that Ellison has failed to pay him for four of the players he referred: Deommodore Lenoir, Jaylon Johnson, Mike Hughes, and Romeo Doubs.

Based on their agreement, Johnson believes that Ellison should have paid him $962,335. Since Ellison has not made the payment, Johnson has decided to take legal action to recover the money. In response to the lawsuit, Ellison denied all the claims made by Johnson.

Keyshawn Johnson, who played in the NFL from 1996 to 2006, has since become a prominent media personality. Despite his retirement from professional football, Johnson has continued to mentor high school and college football players over the years.

It remains to be seen how the legal battle between Keyshawn Johnson and Chris Ellison will unfold, as both parties stand firm on their respective positions. Stay tuned for updates on this developing story.
