The View Conference in Turin, Italy, is recognized as an extraordinary gathering for both speakers and attendees. Participants typically remain for the entire week-long event, which boasts keynotes, panels, masterclasses, workshops, and more, all set against the stunning backdrop of the Alps in northwestern Italy.
“I’m excited to announce that View Conference 2025 is set to be one of our largest events yet,” says conference director Maria Elena Gutierrez. “This year’s line-up features over 135 speakers from across the globe, including 14 Academy Award winners and nominees. Attendees can look forward to more than 20 detailed workshops, countless panels and presentations, and two special screenings of major films, introduced by the filmmakers themselves. And that’s just a glimpse of what we offer.”
The conference is scheduled for October 12-17. Notable speakers include Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, co-directors of Netflix’s hit “KPop Demon Hunters”; Alessandro Carloni, writer and director of the much-anticipated Warner Bros. Animation movie “Cat in the Hat”; Dean DeBlois, writer-director of DreamWorks’ live-action “How to Train Your Dragon”; VFX supervisor and creative director Christian Manz; overall animation supervisor Glen McIntosh; Domee Shi and Madeline Sharafian, directors of Pixar’s “Elio”; and directors Alex Woo and Nicky Lavender of Netflix’s upcoming “In Your Dreams,” along with head of character animation Sacha Kapijimpanga, among many others.
Both “KPop Demon Hunters” and “How to Train Your Dragon” will be showcased at the conference, each followed by discussions with their creative teams. This year, the event will also honor Doug Chiang, senior vice president and executive design director of Lucasfilm, with the View Visionary Award in recognition of his significant contributions to the industry.
“One of the most exciting aspects of View Conference 2025 will be curating your own week,” notes Gutierrez. “Spend a morning with an Oscar-winning filmmaker, and then enjoy lunch with fellow creatives and enthusiasts. Afterward, immerse yourself in your preferred craft with one of our detailed workshops. You might think the next day will be a repeat, but it’s not. Why not attend a panel discussing the future of storytelling, get feedback on your portfolio from a leading artist, or explore behind-the-scenes insights into this year’s blockbuster films? Each day presents new opportunities.”
Universal’s upcoming “Wicked: For Good” will also be a highlight of the event. VFX supervisor Pablo Helman and animation supervisor Dale Newton will share their insights on both “Wicked” films and field audience questions. Other major films represented include Disney’s “Tron: Ares,” the live-action “Lilo & Stitch,” Apple’s “F1,” Warner Bros.’ “Superman,” and Marvel’s “Fantastic Four: First Steps.”
Several high-profile television projects are sending speakers to the View Conference as well, including Netflix’s “Wednesday” and “The Sandman,” alongside HBO’s “The Penguin.” The agenda will also cover discussions about the latest in technology and AI.
“But this event is about much more than numbers,” Gutierrez emphasizes. “What attendees take away from View Conference is our welcoming and vibrant atmosphere, where they can learn from industry leaders, meet their idols, and return home truly inspired. That’s the View Conference magic.”
For Gutierrez and numerous attendees, View Conference represents a strong sense of community. Each year, she strives to create an environment for like-minded individuals to come together, exchange ideas, and share experiences in a friendly and inclusive atmosphere.
“People attend once, and they find themselves returning. They become part of our community,” she says. “When they have a new project, they prioritize bringing it to showcase here at the View Conference. It’s a unique opportunity to connect with top-tier professionals. How special is it to spend an entire week with such remarkable talent?”
