Former Cup Series champion Kurt Busch has been inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2026, marking a significant milestone in his racing career. The Roush-Fenway Racing team celebrated this achievement by sharing a clip of Busch reflecting on his time competing for the team in the early 2000s.

In the video, Kurt Busch recalled how Matt Chambers noticed him competing in Tucson and recommended him to the team, which ultimately led to his breakthrough with Roush Racing. He made his debut in stock car racing with the team and had a remarkable season as a rookie driver in the Truck Series, finishing in an impressive second place.

During his time at Roush Racing, Busch’s teammate in the Truck Series was the late Greg Biffle, with whom he formed a strong bond. Busch reminisced about their time together, describing their relationship as “like peanut butter & jelly,” noting that they gelled well both on and off the track.

Expressing his gratitude to Roush Racing, Busch thanked team owner Jack Roush, crew chiefs, sponsors, and everyone involved with the team in the early 2000s. He credited the team for giving him his big break and acknowledged the impact it had on his career.

Joining the Hall of Fame Class of 2026 alongside Busch were Harry Gant and Ray Hendrick. The voting results showed that Busch and Gant received 61% of the votes in the Modern Era division, while Hendrick topped the Pioneer division with Bob Welborn coming in second.

In a touching tribute, Kurt Busch’s younger brother and fellow NASCAR champion Kyle Busch shared a heartfelt message congratulating him on his Hall of Fame induction. Kyle praised Kurt for his illustrious career, which included victories in the Cup Series, Xfinity Series, and Truck Series, showcasing his versatility and skill across all three divisions.

As Kurt Busch’s legacy is immortalized in the NASCAR Hall of Fame, his remarkable career and enduring impact on the sport will continue to inspire future generations of racers. Congratulations to Kurt Busch on this well-deserved honor, and may his legacy live on in the annals of NASCAR history.
