Los Angeles prosecutors are currently reviewing the case of actor Kiefer Sutherland after he was accused of assaulting a ride-share driver in Hollywood earlier this month. The LA County District Attorneyâs Office has confirmed that they are considering potential criminal charges against the â24â star, as reported by NBC4.
It remains unclear how long the DAâs office will take to complete the review process. Sutherland, 59, reportedly called for an Uber Black after dining with a friend on the evening of January 11. During the ride, Sutherland asked the driver to pull over and let him out. The driver claimed that Sutherland then threatened to kill him if he did not comply.
The driver promptly called 911 around 12:15 a.m. and informed the police that he had been assaulted by Sutherland near Sunset Boulevard and Fairfax Avenue. Subsequently, Sutherland was arrested on felony charges of making a criminal threat and was later released on $50,000 bail. He is set to appear in court for his initial hearing on February 2.
The incident has raised concerns about the behavior of public figures and the consequences of such actions. It is essential for individuals, regardless of their status, to conduct themselves responsibly and respectfully towards others. As the case unfolds, the outcome will be closely monitored by both the public and legal authorities.
