In a world where storytelling knows no boundaries and consumption is increasingly in bite-sized formats, China’s Linmon Media is strategically embracing both trends.

During the 2026–2027 series launch at Hong Kong FilMart on March 17, Linmon Media unveiled an extensive lineup that spans high-end long-form dramas and a growing microdrama sector. This dual strategy targets Asian audiences while maintaining a global perspective.

Over the last year, Linmon has expanded its international presence significantly. Four major titles have been distributed on over 30 global platforms, supported by early material delivery, localization efforts, and comprehensive marketing strategies.

“A Dream Within a Dream” became a standout hit, reaching more than 180 countries and ranking among the top five Chinese shows on iQiyi globally. Meanwhile, “Love Between Lines,” which debuted in early 2026, has reached number one in 11 markets and received an impressive 8.7 rating on MyDramaList.

This year promises further growth with new releases on the horizon. Leading the 2026 lineup is “In the Moonlight,” a historical romance about a fallen princess saved by a reclusive king, starring Shang’en Bao and Hongyi Wang.

Also upcoming is “Sunshine Through the Rain,” a campus drama exploring themes of ambition and financial struggle. Attention shifted to “The Heart 2,” with actors Mao Xiaotong and Jin Shijia attending the presentation.

Mao commented, “This time, everything has upgraded,” emphasizing advancements in both professional aspects and emotional relationships. Jin noted that the new season captures the evolution over time: “Some things are better, some are more difficult. But the characters have grown — we wanted the audience to feel that.” Further expanding the lineup is the medical drama “Small Town Prescription” (or “Xiao Cheng Liang Fang”), featuring Zhan Xiao, Dahong Ni, and Yan Jiang.

Other projects include “The Infinite 10 Days,” a fantasy adventure with a supernatural element, and “The Legend of Lu Xiaofeng,” adapted from a classic wuxia novel. “Only Thirty Five,” following “Nothing But Thirty,” focuses on women at career and personal crossroads. Another eagerly awaited historical drama by Li Muge, “Light Through the Eternal Storm,” follows Su Jin as she disguises herself to uncover her family’s persecution. “Li Huowang” is a fantasy-adventure series with an English title forthcoming.

A significant shift is evident in Linmon’s microdrama focus.

After the success of 11 microdramas in 2025, primarily targeting Thai and Indonesian audiences with 80% making the top three rankings, Linmon is launching a new vertical-format lineup for Asian viewers. These mobile-first series aim for quick consumption, sharing, and cultural specificity, with local casts and languages at their core. Target markets include Korea, Vietnam, the Philippines, Thailand, and Indonesia.

To further this vision, Linmon has partnered with Chinese short drama company Tinghua Dao. “By combining Tinghua Dao’s robust library with our leadership in local production and global distribution, we are offering a unique, local plus global synergy,” said Roy Lu, general manager of Linmon Media Intl., during the presentation.
