Andy Serkis is dropping hints about the cast for a new movie in ‘The Lord of the Rings’ franchise, and it sounds like he went to bat to get the band back together.
We caught up with the actor who brought Gollum to life in the ‘LOTR’ trilogy at LAX on Tuesday and asked about the new movie he’s directing and starring in, “The Lord of the Rings: The Hunt For Gollum.”
Andy will be reprising his iconic role as Gollum, and he mentioned that Ian McKellen will also be returning as Gandalf. There are expectations for Elijah Wood to reprise his role as Frodo Baggins as well. While Andy didn’t reveal much about the rest of the cast, he did express his love for the original cast, which included Viggo Mortensen and Orlando Bloom.
Andy’s reluctance to disclose further details about the cast adds to the anticipation surrounding the new film. However, fans can watch the clip to decipher any subtle hints he may have dropped.
This weekend, ‘LOTR’ fans flocked to theaters to celebrate the 25th anniversary of Peter Jackson‘s “The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring.” Andy believes this enthusiastic response bodes well for the upcoming movie, scheduled for release in 2027.
