A shocking incident took place on a CTA bus in the West Loop, where a 31-year-old man, Wayne Carter, is facing multiple felony charges for allegedly groping at least three women. The incident occurred on June 27 around 5:45 p.m. when Carter boarded the bus near Madison and Canal.

Court documents reveal that Carter approached a seated 31-year-old woman and without any provocation, grabbed her right breast over her clothing and attempted to grope her again. The woman managed to block him with her handbag, but Carter didn’t stop there. He went on to grab the breast of a second woman and even groped a third woman after police were called. It took the intervention of a fourth passenger to prevent Carter from targeting more women.

As a result of his actions, Carter has been charged with criminal sexual abuse by force, aggravated battery of a transit passenger, and aggravated battery in a public place. During the court hearing, Judge Rivanda Beal ordered Carter to be held in custody, describing him as “a danger to women everywhere” due to his “pervasive abusive conduct.”

This disturbing incident serves as a reminder of the importance of public safety and the need to address and prevent such reprehensible behavior. It is crucial for authorities to take swift and decisive action to protect individuals from harm and ensure that perpetrators are held accountable for their actions.

The original reporting of this incident was done by CWBChicago, a trusted source for public safety news in various North Side areas including Wrigleyville, Boystown, Lincoln Park, River North, The Loop, and Uptown.
