An armed man injured in an officer-involved shooting near Greeley
An armed man was shot and injured by a Weld County sheriff’s deputy in an officer-involved shooting near Greeley on Sunday, according to investigators.
Deputies responded to a disturbance in the 200 block of 2nd Avenue Lane in unincorporated Weld County just east of Greeley around 12:16 a.m. Sunday, as reported by the 19th Judicial District Critical Response Team.
Upon arrival, deputies encountered an armed man who reportedly discharged his firearm while they were on the scene. The investigation did not specify if the man’s shots were directed at the deputies.
In response, a Weld County deputy shot the man, who has not been publicly identified, twice. The injured man was transported to a hospital by paramedics and is expected to survive, according to investigators.
