Manchester United’s Jadon Sancho is reportedly willing to take a pay cut to make a return to Borussia Dortmund. The Red Devils are also open to selling him and have lowered their asking price in the hopes of facilitating a transfer.

According to a report by Sky Germany’s Patrick Berger, Dortmund is keen on bringing Sancho back to the club. The Bundesliga outfit is well aware that the young Englishman has no future at Old Trafford and sees him as a valuable addition to their squad.

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director, Sebastian Kehl, hinted at their interest in Sancho during a recent interview. He emphasized the need for the player to accept a pay cut and for the transfer fee to be within the club’s budget. Kehl stated, “Sancho is constantly at the centre of transfer rumors. I understand the interest, but we are thinking carefully within our limits. The conditions must be right. We will do something, but we are limited by certain options.”

Reports suggest that Manchester United has reduced their asking price for Sancho, from £25 million to €20 million (£17.4m), as they look to offload the player. Italian giants Juventus have reportedly cooled off their interest in the winger, opening the door for a potential reunion with Dortmund.

Nottingham Forest has also expressed interest in signing Sancho as a replacement for Anthony Elanga, who recently joined Newcastle United.

Former Borussia Dortmund midfielder Steffen Freund has voiced his support for Sancho’s return to the club. He believes it would be a beneficial move for both the player and the team, citing Sancho’s previous success during his time with Dortmund.

Sancho initially joined Borussia Dortmund in 2017 and enjoyed a successful spell before his move to Manchester United in 2021. During his time with the German club, he made 158 appearances, scoring 53 goals and providing 67 assists. He also won the DFB-Pokal and DFB-Supercup with Dortmund.

Overall, the potential reunion between Jadon Sancho and Borussia Dortmund presents an exciting opportunity for both parties. With Sancho willing to make sacrifices to secure a move back to his former club, the stage is set for a potential transfer that could benefit all involved parties.
