Jeremy Renner has strongly denied the harassment allegations made against him by filmmaker Yi Zhou. According to Zhou, Renner sent her “personal and intimate photographs of himself” and exhibited disturbing behavior that led her to lock herself in a room. However, Renner’s representative has dismissed these claims as “totally inaccurate and untrue.”
Zhou first made these allegations against Renner through a series of Instagram posts, using hashtags like “#Cancel” and “#CancelJeremyRenner.” She alleged that Renner began sending her unsolicited pornographic images of himself in June and subsequently manipulated her into a relationship. Zhou also mentioned being targeted by smear campaigns orchestrated by Renner’s fans.
In response to these accusations, Renner’s representative and lawyer have refrained from providing further comments. Zhou elaborated on her claims in an interview with the Daily Mail, describing an incident on August 20 where Renner’s behavior allegedly turned violent, prompting her to seek refuge in a locked room.
Prior to these allegations, Renner and Zhou were collaborating on multiple projects. Zhou is directing a documentary called “Chronicles of Disney,” featuring Renner as an interviewee. Additionally, Renner voices a character in Zhou’s AI-created animated film, “Stardust Future: Stars and Scars.” The film was slated for an awards-qualifying theatrical release in November, with a portion of the proceeds going to Renner’s charity, the Rennervation Foundation.
Despite the ongoing controversy, Renner and Zhou’s professional relationship has come under scrutiny, raising questions about the dark side of Hollywood and the treatment of women in the industry. As the situation continues to unfold, both parties are facing public scrutiny and media attention.
