On Tuesday afternoon, a significant incident unfolded in Eugene, Oregon, where a group associated with Antifa encircled a federal building. This event occurred just a day after President Trump officially designated Antifa as a domestic terrorist organization.
In a move that sent ripples through the political landscape, President Trump on Monday signed an executive order implicating Antifa in acts of domestic terrorism.
The executive order characterized Antifa as “a militarist, anarchist enterprise” that actively seeks the overthrow of the U.S. Government, law enforcement, and the existing legal structure. The president asserted that this group employs illegal tactics to orchestrate violence and terror across the nation in pursuit of these objectives.
Witnesses reported that masked individuals affiliated with Antifa were present at the entrances and exits of the federal building, aggressively banging on windows and doors.

Antifa operates as a militarist, anarchist entity that explicitly calls for the overthrow of the United States Government, law enforcement authorities, and our legal structure. They utilize illegal methods to coordinate and execute a nationwide campaign of violence and terrorism to fulfill these aims. This campaign includes obstructing federal law enforcement through armed standoffs, organized riots, violent assaults on Immigration and Customs Enforcement and other law enforcement officers, as well as threats against political figures. Moreover, Antifa recruits and radicalizes young Americans to participate in this violence, employing elaborate systems to obscure the identities of its members while financially supporting these operations. Such coordinated efforts, aimed at achieving policy goals through coercion and intimidation, fall under the definition of domestic terrorism.
Sec. 2. Designation as a Domestic Terrorist Organization. Given the established pattern of political violence aimed at stifling lawful political activity and undermining the rule of law, I hereby designate Antifa as a ‘domestic terrorist organization.’ All relevant executive departments and agencies shall utilize their powers to investigate and dismantle any and all illegal activities linked to Antifa.
Sec. 3. General Provisions. (a) This order shall be implemented in accordance with applicable law. It does not confer rights enforceable by any party against the United States or its entities.
