The highly anticipated sequel to the murder mystery film, “Invitation to a Murder” (2023), titled “Murder at the Embassy,” hit theaters on November 14, 2025. Directed by Stephen Shimek, the film is set in 1930s Cairo and follows Detective Miranda Green, portrayed by the talented Mischa Barton. Miranda is called to investigate a suspicious murder inside the British Embassy, only to uncover a more sinister crime – the theft of a top-secret document that puts Buckingham Palace and international peace at risk. With everyone in the embassy under suspicion, Miranda must unravel a high-stakes conspiracy before a hidden evil force triggers a global conflict.

The ensemble cast of “Murder at the Embassy” features Mischa Barton reprising her role as Detective Miranda Green, supported by Mido Hamada, Kojo Attah, Nell Barlow, Raha Rahbari, Antonia Bernath, and Richard Dillane, among others.

Mischa Barton, known for her role as Marissa Cooper in the popular TV series “The O.C.,” returns to lead another murder mystery case in the film. Barton’s career began on stage and she has appeared in various films and TV shows, showcasing her versatility as an actress. In addition to “Murder at the Embassy,” Barton is set to appear in the upcoming psychological thriller film “Sleepwalker.”

The supporting cast of “Murder at the Embassy” includes Richard Dillane as Robert, Raha Rahbari as Leila, Antonia Bernath as Betty, Mido Hamada as Mamoud, and other talented actors who bring the intriguing characters to life on screen.

The prequel to “Murder at the Embassy,” titled “Invitation to a Murder,” was released in 2023, setting the stage for Miranda Green’s investigative skills in a remote island mansion filled with mystery and suspense. The prequel delves into Miranda’s early adventures and showcases her keen analytical abilities as she uncovers shocking revelations about the guests’ true identities and motives.
