A gang of moped-riding teenage muggers wreaked havoc in broad daylight in Brooklyn last month, using a machete and their fists to rob unsuspecting victims. The brazen crimes took place in various neighborhoods across the borough, leaving residents on edge.

The first incident occurred at 17th Avenue and 65th Street in Bensonhurst on February 10th. Two assailants approached a 19-year-old victim, with one brandishing a machete, and forcibly took his motorized scooter. The violent nature of the robbery shocked witnesses and left the victim shaken.

In another disturbing incident on February 13th, four suspects targeted a 16-year-old boy at Ridge Boulevard and 86th Street in Bay Ridge. The assailants demanded the boy’s jacket and attempted to rip it off him before fleeing the scene on their scooters. The victim was left traumatized by the ordeal.

The youngest victims of the muggers were two 13-year-olds who were accosted in Brighton Beach on February 16th. When the boys refused to hand over their jackets, one of them was punched in the face by five members of the gang. The assailants then grabbed the jackets and fled the scene, leaving the victims physically unharmed but emotionally scarred.

In a final heist on February 21st in Manhattan Beach, four thugs targeted two boys aged 14 and 16. One of the assailants pushed the older victim off his e-bike while another snatched a Nike backpack from the younger victim. The brazen criminals then made a swift getaway, leaving the victims feeling vulnerable and violated.

The NYPD has released photos of two suspects involved in the last robbery, one of whom is seen grinning in the image. The authorities are urging anyone with information about the crimes to come forward and help bring the perpetrators to justice. The suspects are believed to be between the ages of 16 and 18, highlighting the alarming trend of youth involvement in violent crimes.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to the authorities. The community must come together to ensure the safety and well-being of all residents, especially in the face of such brazen acts of violence. If you have any information about these incidents, please contact the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or visit the Crime Stoppers website to submit a tip anonymously. Let’s work together to make our neighborhoods safer for everyone.
