Woman Arrested After Allegedly Stabbing 7-Year-Old Son in Rogers Park
A woman has been taken into custody after reportedly stabbing her 7-year-old son in a residence in Rogers Park on Saturday morning.
According to a statement from Chicago police, the incident occurred around 8 a.m. when a 26-year-old female approached the young victim with a sharp object and stabbed him.
Authorities were alerted to the stabbing after the boy was rushed to Evanston Hospital, where medical staff contacted the police.
Both Evanston and Chicago officers responded to the hospital and discovered that the attack took place in an apartment in the 1700 block of West Touhy. The child’s mother was apprehended at the hospital, as per a source.
Meanwhile, the injured boy underwent surgery at Lurie Children’s Hospital and is reported to be in fair condition, according to CPD.
