A tragic incident occurred in east Commerce City on Monday as a 22-year-old motorcycle rider lost his life in a collision with a semitrailer, as confirmed by police officials.
The fatal crash took place around noon on Tower Road between Peña Boulevard and 96th Avenue, as stated in a Facebook post by the Commerce City Police Department.
Fortunately, no other injuries were reported, according to department spokesperson Joanna Small.
Although speed and intoxication are not believed to be contributing factors in the crash, the investigation is still ongoing, Small added.
Tower Road was temporarily closed in both directions following the incident but was expected to reopen later that afternoon, according to Small.
The identity of the deceased motorcyclist will be disclosed by the Adams County Coroner’s Office.
