Netflix has set the stage for an exciting new season of its popular live-action series “One Piece: Into the Grand Line,” with the release of the official trailer for Season 2. Fans of the high-seas adventure can now get a sneak peek of what’s to come as Monkey D. Luffy and the Straw Hat pirates dive into the legendary Grand Line in search of the world’s greatest treasure. The new season is set to premiere on March 10, promising a thrilling continuation of the epic journey.

Alongside the trailer, Netflix has also unveiled a series of images and a heartfelt letter from creator Eiichiro Oda, expressing his enthusiasm for the upcoming season. Oda’s best-selling manga serves as the inspiration for the adaptation, which has captured the hearts of viewers around the world. Season 2 will take viewers on a perilous voyage through the treacherous waters of the Grand Line, where formidable enemies, mysterious islands, and escalating challenges await the crew.

In addition to the trailer release, Netflix has announced plans for 13 global fan screenings and activations for “One Piece.” These events will take place in various cities including Mexico City, Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, Cape Town, Bangkok, and Rio de Janeiro, starting from February 23 and running through mid-March. The series, a collaboration between Tomorrow Studios, Shueisha, and Netflix, made its debut in 2023 and quickly rose to the top of Netflix’s Global Top 10 charts, claiming the number one spot in over 75 countries. It also marked the first English-language Netflix series to premiere at number one in Japan.

Season 2 of “One Piece: Into the Grand Line” is co-showrun by Matt Owens and Joe Tracz, with a returning ensemble cast that includes Iñaki Godoy, Mackenyu, Emily Rudd, Jacob Romero, and Taz Skylar. The series has already been renewed for a third season, promising even more adventures on the horizon for fans to enjoy.

Friedlander, Pope, Nandan, and Israel will serve on the West Coast board, while Entelis and Ryan join the East Coast board, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the organization.

Their collective leadership will ensure that the Peabody Awards continue to celebrate and promote storytelling that addresses pressing social issues and amplifies diverse voices in the industry. Nandan, Israel, and Entelis are key figures in the television industry, overseeing successful shows like “Euphoria,” “Beef,” and “Navalny.” Nandan leads A24’s television division, Israel heads television at North Road, and Entelis is in charge of CNN Originals’ long-form and documentary storytelling.

Ryan, on the other hand, has a background in journalism, having run news departments at The New York Times, including the Metro section and the Washington bureau.

The 2026 Peabody Awards nominees and winners will soon be announced, with the ceremony scheduled for May 31 at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel. The prestigious awards recognize outstanding achievements in storytelling across various media platforms.

The West Coast Board of Directors for the Peabody Awards includes industry heavyweights such as David Kramer, Bela Bajaria, Casey Bloys, and Kathryn Busby. These individuals play a crucial role in shaping the landscape of television and content creation.
