Are you a fan of science fiction where danger looms large and challenges have a game-like twist?
Do you enjoy exploring enigmatic worlds that push characters to their limits? If so, you may have already watched Seasons 1 and 2 of Alice in Borderland, a psychological survival thriller on Netflix, derived from the manga by Haro Aso.
If you haven’t tuned in yet, now’s your opportunity — and for those who have, you’ll definitely want to discover the next chapter in Arisu and Usagi’s journey. Season 3 launched on September 25, 2025, featuring six gripping episodes filled with peril, mystery, and emotional depth.
Here’s why the Watch With Us team believes this new season is a must-watch.
The Intriguing Premise Continues
Seasons 1 and 2 introduced Arisu (Kento Yamazaki) and Usagi (Tao Tsuchiya) in a twisted alternate Tokyo known as the Borderland, where they fought for survival by partaking in lethal games based on playing cards. After overcoming the gamemasters and surviving the challenges, they were faced with a choice — return to the real world but lose their memories or stay behind. Arisu and Usagi opted to return, waking from comas in a Tokyo ravaged by a meteorite strike.
As Season 3 commences, the couple is seen attempting to rebuild their lives together — now married, healing, and with not much memory of their Borderland experiences. However, their tranquility is short-lived. When Usagi goes missing, Arisu realizes that his adventure is not finished, pulling him back into the perilous world he thought he had escaped for good.
Season 3 Offers Fresh Content, Avoiding Manga Spoilers
While the first two seasons adhered closely to Haro Aso’s original Alice in Borderland manga, Season 3 diverges slightly from the source material. It incorporates elements and characters from the sequel manga Alice in Borderland: Retry but also unveils original narrative twists not present in the manga.
Alongside Kento Yamazaki and Tao Tsuchiya reprising their roles as Arisu and Usagi, beloved characters like Chishiya (Nijiro Murakami) and Kuina (Aya Asahina) make a return, ensuring continuity with previous seasons even as the story forges ahead with new plotlines.
The Heartfelt Love Story Grows Deeper
The relationship between Arisu and Usagi has always been a central theme throughout the series. In Season 3, viewers witness their interactions as a married couple in the real world, and it’s captivating to see how their dynamic has evolved — which parts have changed, and which aspects remain resilient.
As Arisu and Usagi are faced with separation, both must navigate their paths back to one another while grappling with an important question: Is their love fortified by the ordinary reality they face or is it enhanced in the thrilling realm of Borderland? Their relationship evolves beyond mere survival, testing its resilience when everyday life and chaos intersect.
