On Tuesday, October 14, President Trump will honor the late Charlie Kirk with a posthumous Presidential Medal of Freedom, coinciding with what would have been Kirk’s 32nd birthday.
Trump made this announcement while returning from a Middle Eastern trip, where he is expected to finalize the initial phase of a 20-point peace agreement between Israel and Hamas. The President noted, “I will be back on Tuesday ‘for Charlie Kirk,’ signaling the solemnity of the occasion.”
“We’re awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom—an esteemed accolade just shy of the Congressional Medal of Honor,” Trump elaborated. “His wife, Erika, will be present, along with many others to celebrate.”
WATCH:
Kirk, known for his impact within the conservative movement, was tragically killed on September 10, 2025, during a speaking engagement at Utah Valley University. The incident occurred in front of a large audience of students, marking a heartbreaking chapter in political discourse.
The alleged perpetrator, 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, reportedly harbored resentment towards Kirk’s outspoken views on transgender issues, which he deemed “hateful” towards his partner, Lance Twiggs. Robinson now faces multiple charges, including murder, with Utah prosecutors pursuing the death penalty.
Following the tragic event, President Trump alluded to this impending recognition during a memorial address at the Pentagon on September 11, stating, “Charlie was an exceptional voice of freedom and an inspiration to countless individuals.”
Stay tuned for further developments on Tuesday’s ceremony.
