NBC’s upcoming multi-camera comedy “Newlyweds” has announced the addition of three new series regulars, Variety reports.
Emma Meisel, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, and Bill O’Neill have joined the cast, starring alongside Téa Leoni and Tim Daly. As noted earlier, Jamie Lee Curtis, who is also an executive producer, will appear in a recurring guest role.
The series is described as “a later-in-life love story about a free-spirited woman (Leoni) and a buttoned-up professor (Daly) who marry impetuously after a whirlwind courtship.”
Meisel and Diaz-Silverio will portray Poppy and Lolo, respectively, both of whom are Jeanie’s (Leoni) children, with Lolo being adopted. O’Neill will take on the role of Arvid, James’ (Daly) assistant in the philosophy department at the University of Oslo.
Meisel’s previous credits include the Disney+ series “Doogie Kamealoha, M.D.,” Destry Allyn Spielberg’s debut film “Please Don’t Feed the Children,” and several episodes of “American Horror Story” Season 9.
She is represented by Innovative Artists and MGMT Entertainment.
Diaz-Silverio is celebrated for his role in the critically-acclaimed Amazon series “Primo” from Shea Serrano and Mike Schur. His other television appearances include “Zero Day,” “Law & Order: SVU,” and “FBI.” His film work includes Zach Braff’s “A Good Person.”
He is represented by Gersh and Untitled Entertainment.
O’Neill received an Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination for Best Newcomer for “The Amazing Banana Brothers” at the Edinburgh Fringe. He co-created the FX show “Two Pink Doors” and appears in Edgar Wright’s remake of “The Running Man.”

“Newlyweds” is created by writer and executive producer Gail Lerner, with executive producers Eric and Kim Tannenbaum from The Tannenbaum Company, Curtis, Scott Schwartz, and Lionsgate Television. Pam Fryman directed and executive produced the pilot. The series is produced by Universal Television.
“Newlyweds” is among the two new comedies NBC has slated for the 2026-2027 broadcast season, alongside the single-camera comedy “Sunset P.I.” “Newlyweds” is set to premiere this fall, while “Sunset P.I.” is scheduled for a midseason debut.
