The Las Vegas Raiders are gearing up for the upcoming NFL draft in April, with rumors swirling that they are eyeing Fernando Mendoza as their top pick after Indiana’s national championship win. The Raiders are in need of a strong coaching hire to help develop a potential franchise quarterback.

In a surprising move, the Raiders brought back former Giants coach Brian Daboll for a second in-person interview, confirming the news on Tuesday. This decision has sparked mixed reactions among fans, with some questioning the choice of a coach who failed in his previous role.

“Another recycled coach chasing a dream while the real talent remains overlooked and undervalued in the shadows of this league,” one fan expressed their disappointment.

“Holy sh*t, poor Fernando Mendoza,” another fan added, expressing sympathy for the potential No. 1 draft pick.

As the coaching search continues, the Raiders have cycled through multiple interviews since parting ways with Pete Carroll. Former Bills offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Broncos pass game coordinator Davis Webb are among the candidates who received second interviews on Monday. However, Brady ultimately accepted a coaching position with the Bills.

Daboll’s previous stint with the Giants ended in November after a disappointing season. Despite a playoff win in 2022, Daboll’s overall record of 20-40-1 raised concerns among fans about his ability to lead a team to success.

In the midst of the coaching speculation, reports have surfaced that the Philadelphia Eagles are targeting Daboll for their offensive coordinator position. After a lackluster season on offense, the Eagles are looking to revamp their coaching staff and improve their scoring output.

With the coaching carousel in full swing, it remains to be seen if Daboll will land with the Raiders or the Eagles. As fans eagerly await the final decision, the NFL offseason continues to provide plenty of drama and excitement.
