After a disappointing loss to the Chicago Bears, the New York Giants have made the difficult decision to part ways with head coach Brian Daboll. Daboll leaves the franchise with a record of 20-40-1, including a lackluster 2-8 record this season. The decision to let go of Daboll was seen as inevitable by many, with the recent injury to quarterback Jaxson Dart being the final straw.

Despite Daboll’s departure, general manager Joe Schoen remains with the Giants. However, there are growing calls for Schoen to also be held accountable for the team’s lack of success on the field. The Athletic’s Dan Duggan believes that Schoen should face scrutiny for some of his decisions over the years, as the Giants fan base has been critical of his leadership.

In the wake of Daboll’s firing, offensive coordinator Mike Kafka has been named the interim head coach for the remainder of the season. While there were speculations about potential staff changes, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports that no other coaching staff will be leaving the team at this time. Schoen and defensive coordinator Shane Bowen will retain their current roles for the foreseeable future.

The future of Schoen with the Giants will be closely monitored in the coming months, especially if the team fails to show improvement after Daboll’s departure. Despite external calls for Schoen to be fired, SNY’s Connor Hughes reports that Schoen is still highly regarded within the organization. The Giants front office believes that the team’s talent level surpasses their on-field results and remains confident in their ability to bounce back.

Hughes also revealed that the organization has faith in rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart and sees his promising start as a sign of better things to come. While there may be pressure on Schoen if the team’s performance deteriorates further, for now, the Giants view him in high regard and are committed to giving him the opportunity to turn things around.

In conclusion, the Giants have made a significant change by parting ways with Brian Daboll, but the focus now shifts to Joe Schoen and his ability to lead the team to success. The coming months will be crucial for Schoen as he looks to prove his worth and guide the Giants to a brighter future on the field.
