Sydney Sweeney, the actress who recently made headlines for draping bras over the iconic Hollywood sign, is facing criticism from artist Zach Fernandez. Fernandez, also known as Jesushands, famously altered the Hollywood sign in 2017 to read “HOLLYWEED” and was subsequently arrested for trespassing and had to pay a fine and complete community service. He believes that Sweeney should be held to the same standard.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Fernandez expressed his belief that if Sweeney is let off without any consequences, it would set a dangerous precedent and be a clear example of a double standard. He emphasized the importance of consistent enforcement of the law, regardless of who is involved.

Many people in Los Angeles have drawn comparisons between Sweeney’s bra stunt and Fernandez’s “HOLLYWEED” alteration. However, Fernandez argues that there is a significant difference between the two acts. He describes his own stunt as an artistic intervention and cultural commentary, while he views Sweeney’s stunt as a brand-backed advertisement for her new lingerie line.

It is worth noting that Sweeney has been using the stunt to promote her new lingerie line, while Fernandez’s 2017 alteration was a tribute to the late Daniel Finegood, who originally altered the Hollywood sign in 1976. Fernandez now runs a California lifestyle brand named Hollyweed, which is inspired by his stunt and focuses on clothing, goods, culture, and cannabis.

As of now, Sweeney has not faced any legal repercussions for her bra stunt. However, the situation could change in the future. It remains to be seen how this controversy will unfold and whether Sweeney will be held accountable for her actions.
