The introduction of MagSafe technology on iPhones has long been a factor in keeping users loyal to Apple products, as it offered a convenient and efficient way to charge their devices wirelessly. However, with the latest Pixel 10 phones from Google now featuring Qi2-powered Pixelsnap tech, Android users can finally experience the benefits of magnetic wireless charging. One accessory that stands out in enhancing this experience is the Nomad Stand One.

When setting up the Pixel 10 Pro, many users were eager to find a magnetic stand that could replicate the convenience of MagSafe charging. While Google’s Pixelsnap Stand seemed like the obvious choice, it fell short in terms of design and functionality. The silicon-like exterior of the Pixelsnap Stand easily attracted dirt, and its weight of 405g made it feel cumbersome on the desk.

In contrast, the Nomad Stand One offers a more refined and stylish alternative to the Pixelsnap Stand. Made of glass and metal, the Stand One exudes a sleek and premium look that complements any workspace. Despite weighing slightly more at 575g, the weight is evenly distributed across the body, ensuring stability and preventing any wobbling.

One standout feature of the Stand One is its base, which doubles as a 5W wireless charging dish for smaller accessories like wireless earbuds. This added functionality makes it a versatile and practical accessory for charging multiple devices simultaneously. The Qi puck of the Stand One protrudes from the chassis, allowing for better heat dissipation and preventing overheating issues commonly associated with wireless charging.

While the Stand One’s stand angle is not adjustable, the default 21-degree tilt is suitable for most scenarios, including video calls. The accessory offers Qi2 and MagSafe support, enabling it to charge compatible phones at speeds of up to 25W when paired with a 40W adapter (not included). This ensures fast and efficient charging without the risk of overheating.

Overall, the Nomad Stand One emerges as the superior accessory for the Pixel 10, surpassing Google’s official Pixelsnap Stand in design, functionality, and performance. Priced at £99/$119, it may be slightly more expensive, but the added features and quality make it well worth the investment for users looking to enhance their charging experience with the Pixel 10.
