The Nothing Phone (4a) is the latest offering from Nothing, a company known for its unique design and user experience. The Phone (4a) builds on the success of its predecessor, the Phone (3a) series, and aims to continue the brand’s reputation for delivering well-balanced mid-range smartphones.

Design & Build:
The Phone (4a) features a familiar design with a horizontal rear camera bar hosting a trio of rear sensors. The standout feature is the new Glyph Bar, replacing the previous Glyph Lights, offering a more understated look with enhanced brightness for better visibility. The Essential Key has been repositioned for easier access, and the phone comes in a range of color options, including a new pink model.

Screen & Speakers:
The Phone (4a) boasts a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution, offering a clear and smooth visual experience. Touch response rate has been improved for gaming, and the display now supports up to 4500-nit peak brightness for better HDR content viewing. The phone also features stereo speakers with decent audio output.

Specs & Performance:
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 4 SoC, the Phone (4a) delivers smooth performance for daily use and gaming. The move to faster UFS 3.1 storage brings faster app load times and better multitasking. The phone also offers up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and USB 2.0 connectivity.

Cameras:
The Phone (4a) features a 50MP main and telephoto camera setup, along with an 8MP ultrawide and a 32MP front camera. The standout feature is the new tetraprism periscopic telephoto camera, offering improved zoom capabilities. The camera system delivers great image quality with improved detail and color accuracy.

Battery Life & Charging:
With a 5080mAh battery (5400mAh in India), the Phone (4a) offers solid battery life, lasting over a day with moderate use. The phone supports 50W wired charging, delivering a 50% charge in just 22 minutes. The battery is designed to retain 90% of its capacity after 1200 charge cycles.

Software & AI:
Running on Nothing OS 4.1 based on Android 16, the Phone (4a) offers a clean and minimalist user experience. New features like Breathing Break widgets and Soundscape enhance the user experience, while community-created Essential Apps add more customization options.

Price & Availability:
The Phone (4a) is priced at £349/ €349/₹31,999 for the base model, with higher configurations available. The phone is available directly from Nothing’s website and Flipkart in India.

Overall, the Nothing Phone (4a) offers a well-rounded mid-range smartphone experience with unique design elements, improved performance, and a versatile camera system. Despite some shortcomings in durability and software features, the Phone (4a) is a solid choice for users looking for a stylish and capable smartphone in its price range.
