An elderly woman was viciously attacked by an assailant wearing an “X-Men” T-shirt in the East Village last week. The 68-year-old victim was walking on East 14th Street near First Avenue when the attacker struck her in the back with a metal object before fleeing the scene. The incident, captured on surveillance footage, shows the suspect wearing a gray “X-Men” T-shirt, black pants, and gray sneakers.
The victim, fortunately, did not require medical attention, but the suspect remains at large as of Tuesday. This unprovoked assault is just one of several recent attacks in the city. In another incident, a 62-year-old man was randomly slashed with a boxcutter in the Bronx by an emotionally disturbed individual. The victim was waiting at a traffic light when the attacker cut his ear for no apparent reason.
In Park Slope, Brooklyn, a man stabbed a 32-year-old man in the chest on Seventh Avenue in another random attack. Additionally, a 74-year-old woman was punched in the face on a southbound A train in Queens, and a teen boy was slashed on a Bronx subway platform by a crazed individual wielding a large blade.
These disturbing incidents highlight the need for increased vigilance and awareness in public spaces. Authorities are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to prevent further acts of violence. Stay safe and alert in your surroundings to protect yourself and others from potential harm.
