Following the success of its ambitious Argentine series “The Eternaut,” Netflix has opened a new 20,000 sq. ft. office in Buenos Aires and announced an extensive lineup of series, films, and documentaries featuring top talent, set to premiere this year and next.

This marks Netflix’s third and smallest office opening in Latin America this year. The Mexico City office covers approximately 90,000 sq. ft., while Netflix Brazil celebrated its years in the country with an 88,000 sq. ft. purpose-built headquarters in SĂŁo Paulo, attended by Netflix co-CEO Greg Peters.

“Argentina has become a key player in our regional strategy thanks to its audiovisual heritage, creative prowess, and ability to tell local stories that resonate universally,” stated Francisco Ramos, Netflix’s vice president of content for Latin America.

Ramos noted that the Mexico and Brazil offices are larger as they centralize critical regional functions such as accounting, legal, and HR, which aren’t duplicated at each site, enhancing efficiency. In contrast, the Argentina office will concentrate on production, marketing, and PR.

“Our commitment to the country and the Argentinian audiovisual industry is not only renewed but also strengthened by today’s announcement. We are also celebrating 15 years of Netflix in Latin America by opening new offices and reinforcing our local team,” added Ramos.

Among the forthcoming feature films is an untitled project by Santiago Mitre, following his Oscar-nominated “Argentina, 1985.” Co-written with Mariano Llinás, this political thriller features VerĂłnica Llinás (“Trenque Lauquen”) and Peter Lanzani (“Argentina, 1985”).

“The Eternaut” star Ricardo Darin returns to the screen as a pragmatic psychoanalyst in “Lo dejamos acá,” directed by Hernán Goldfrid (“Thesis on a Homicide”).

Spanish director Alex de la Iglesia (“The Bar”) will helm a film adaptation of the acclaimed play “Congratulations,” featuring Adrian Suar and Griselda Siciliani, both stars of the hit show “Envious.”

Among the TV offerings, “Envious” will release its fourth and final season on April 29. The prison drama “In The Mud” unveils its third season, while the second season of the graphic novel adaptation “The Eternaut” is nearing completion. A third season has not been ruled out by Ramos.

Siciliani, Cecilia Roth, and SofĂa Gala Castiglione star in “Moria,” a fictional series inspired by actress-TV personality diva Moria Casán, debuting on August 14 to coincide with her 80th birthday.

Chilean director Pablo Larrain leads the mini-series “My Sad Dead,” based on the short stories of Mariana Enriquez and featuring Mercedes Morán (“Neruda”).

Meanwhile, directors Pablo Trapero (“& Sons”) and Pablo Fendrik (“Dear Killer Nannies”) will take charge of “Gordon,” a thriller based on Marcelo Larraquy’s novel, starring Rodrigo de la Serna (“The Motorcycle Diaries”).

Netflix is also exploring short-form content with “CarĂsima,” a 10-episode series by Caro PardĂaco, each episode lasting 10 minutes.

“Documentaries are a key part of our strategy because they offer unique perspectives on society and complement our broader content approach. They remain popular on Netflix—especially in Argentina—and filmmakers are very pleased with the audiences they’re reaching through the platform,” Ramos shared with Variety.

The documentary “Yiya Murano: Death at Tea Time” premieres on April 23. Later releases will include documentaries on Argentine figures: Gustavo Cova’s “Emi MartĂnez: The Kid Who Stops Time,” about soccer star Emiliano MartĂnez; “Fito Páez: The World Fits in a Song,” a 2026 film by MatĂas Gueilburt on singer-songwriter Fito Páez; and “Perfect: The Voice of Silvina Luna,” a 2027 portrait of model-actress Silvina Luna.

Meanwhile, production continues on “Mafalda,” a highly anticipated animated series by Juan JosĂ© Campanella, director of the Oscar-winning “The Secret in their Eyes,” alongside Netflix’s second major Argentine project, the dystopian mini-series “The Future is Ours,” based on Philip K. Dick’s “The World Jones Made.” Both are slated for release next year.
