Pete Davidson is facing allegations of abandoning Elsie Hewitt to handle new motherhood on her own after their relationship ended just months after the birth of their daughter, Scottie Rose, RadarOnline.com reports.
The 32-year-old comedian and the 30-year-old actress have ended their 14-month relationship, with sources citing the challenges of first-time parenthood as a major strain on their bond.
Hewitt has stirred further interest in her circumstances by posting a request on Instagram Stories for an “assistant / mother’s helper / nanny type” to assist with childcare as she adapts to life as a single mother while Davidson continues his professional commitments across the US.
A source close to Hewitt shared: “Elsie feels devastated by how quickly things changed. They were once planning a future with more children, and now she’s managing childcare and daily life mostly on her own. She didn’t foresee being in this situation so soon after becoming a mom and feels abandoned to handle everything at home.”
The insider also mentioned, “Pete still cares for his daughter and wants to co-parent, but Elsie has been handling the majority of the practical aspects lately. Her friends feel she’s been burdened with the emotional and physical responsibilities while Pete is absorbed in work commitments.”
Hewitt’s social media post about her search for assistance quickly gained online attention.
She stated: “I’m currently trying to find an assistant / mother’s helper / nanny type / basically (a) right-hand person. Apply here if qualified and serious. Only looking @ responses with resumes. ($ of course.)”
The appeal was made public just days after reports of her separation from Davidson, with insiders highlighting increasing tensions after Scottie Rose’s birth earlier this year.
A source commented, “Pete and Elsie are still dealing with the aftermath of the breakup and working out their new roles as parents. Nothing is completely resolved yet, and there are ongoing emotional discussions happening in the background.”
The insider added, “They genuinely made efforts to keep the relationship intact, but the reality of becoming first-time parents so quickly placed a heavy burden on both of them.”

But emotionally, they’ve accepted that the relationship has ended, and they’re moving forward separately while remaining united in raising their daughter and ensuring she feels loved and supported.”
Davidson and Hewitt began dating in March 2025 after being seen together publicly, later confirming in July that they were expecting their first child.
Their whirlwind romance quickly captivated online audiences, partly due to Davidson’s well-known previous relationships with stars like Ariana Grande, Kim Kardashian, Kate Beckinsale, and Chase Sui Wonders.
In January, Davidson and Hewitt participated in a joint interview discussing marriage and expanding their family.

He said: “(Scottie) is five months old now. She’s doing tummy time. She is really, really communicative. She’s trying to talk now. She’ll talk all day, but it’s just she’s going, ‘La’. So we kind of talk all day, and she’s so young.”
