When I’m facing a reading slump, it is often the allure of art books that pulls me out. Kory Stamper’s True Color has been my latest escape, telling the captivating tale of the man behind Merriam-Webster Dictionary’s color definitions. To him, a begonia was “bluer than fiesta, and bluer and stronger than sweet william,” while scotch gray was “duller than mermaid.” His unique perspective is truly remarkable.

This book is just one of many intriguing selections on our summer art reading list, which includes fiction, catalogs, photo books, and even a graphic novel focused on the art of storytelling. Explore the entire collection below, and feel free to share what you’re reading this summer by replying to this email. Suggestions for overcoming a reading slump are always appreciated!
