Olivia Babcock, the Pittsburgh volleyball player, recently shared a heartfelt message for her fans following their disappointing loss at the NCAA volleyball championships semi-finals. This marked their fifth consecutive appearance in the semi-finals, showcasing the team’s consistent performance over the years.

The Panthers faced off against Texas A&M in the national semi-finals on December 18 at the T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri. Unfortunately, Texas A&M emerged victorious with a 3-0 sweep, securing their spot in the NCAA Championships final. Despite the loss, Babcock put up an impressive performance with 22 kills, 6 blocks, and 2 assists in the game.

Shortly after the defeat, Babcock took to social media to express her gratitude to the Pitt fans. She reshared a post from her team’s official Instagram handle on her story, thanking the fans for their support and promising to see them again next year.

The Panthers wrapped up the season with an overall record of 30-5. Babcock had a standout season, earning accolades such as the AVCA East Coast Player of the Year and ACC Player of the Year awards. She also set records with 41 kills in a single match and 71 aces in a single season.

In a press conference before the Final Four match against Texas A&M, Babcock shared insights into how she stays calm under pressure during crucial moments in the game. She emphasized the importance of playing for her team and enjoying the game with her friends, which helps her stay focused and relaxed in high-pressure situations.

Earlier this year, Babcock also opened up about her friendship with Nebraska player Harper Murray, describing them as ‘good friends’ who have played together on several teams. Their bond off the court reflects the camaraderie and sportsmanship that define the volleyball community.
