Denver’s Lower Highland neighborhood is saying goodbye to a beloved fried chicken and beer spot.
The Post Chicken & Beer, located at 1575 Boulder St., will be closing its doors after dinner service on Saturday, December 7th, as confirmed by Dave Query, the founder and co-owner of the Big Red F restaurant group.
Originally established as a brewery in a former VFW building in Lafayette, Query later expanded to open the LoHi location in 2022 following the closure of Lola Coastal Mexican, a longstanding neighborhood favorite since 2006.
“After twenty years in LoHi, first with Lola and more recently with The Post, it’s time to bid farewell,” Query stated.
Looking ahead, Query expressed plans to launch another Post location outside of Denver, in addition to a standalone shop for ButterPunk Cookies, a concept introduced by executive chef Corina Johnson earlier this year at The Post LoHi.
Query declined an interview request through a representative on Wednesday.
The Post Chicken & Beer has several locations across the Front Range, including a south Denver outpost at 2200 S. Broadway. Notably, the LoHi location was featured on an episode of “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” with Guy Fieri last year.
Aside from The Post, Big Red F also operates Jax Fish House & Oyster Bar, West End Tavern, Centro Mexican Kitchen, and Velvet Elk Lounge.
