A recent development has sparked an investigation into the possible ties between the late Jeffrey Epstein and Russian intelligence by a major US ally. The Polish government has announced their intention to look into whether Epstein, a convicted sex offender, was working as a Russian spy to gather compromising material on influential global figures. This decision follows the release of thousands of messages from the US Justice Department that mentioned Vladimir Putin and Moscow in connection to Epstein.

During a government meeting, Prime Minister Donald Tusk expressed concern over the growing suspicion that Russian intelligence may have been involved in organizing Epstein’s illegal activities. He highlighted the potential implications for national security, suggesting that compromising material could exist on current leaders due to their involvement with Epstein.

Polish authorities will form a team to investigate any potential links between Epstein’s crimes and Russian intelligence, including the Federal Security Service. The decision to launch this probe was influenced by emails uncovered in the recent document dump, which referenced meetings between Epstein and Putin. The files contained nearly 1,000 mentions of Putin and close to 10,000 references to Moscow.

One email from 2011 discussed plans for an “appointment with Putin” during Epstein’s visit to Russia, while another from 2013 revealed Epstein’s desire to assist Putin in reimagining the financial system. Speculation arose about Epstein potentially trafficking girls from Russia as part of a state-backed effort to create a massive honeytrap to ensnare influential individuals.

The Russian Embassy in Warsaw and the Foreign Ministry have not responded to the Polish investigation. However, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova previously commented on the Epstein files, criticizing Western elites for their hypocrisy in engaging with Epstein.

The release of these documents has raised questions about Epstein’s connections to Russian intelligence and the extent of his involvement in espionage activities. The Polish investigation aims to shed light on these allegations and determine the potential impact on national security.
