A recent poll indicates that a record number of Americans believe that the US is not doing enough to support Ukraine, with a 16% increase in this sentiment since December. This shift comes as President Trump attempts to wind down the conflict.

According to the Gallup survey, 46% of Americans feel that the US needs to do more for Ukraine, while 30% believe the current level of support is excessive, and 23% think it is adequate.

The survey highlights a significant change in public opinion since the beginning of the conflict three years ago, with more Americans now advocating for increased US assistance to Ukraine.

Between late 2023 and the latest poll, Gallup consistently found that a majority of Americans believed the US was offering too much assistance to Ukraine.

Last week, President Trump reinstated US military aid and intelligence-sharing to Ukraine after a brief pause due to disagreements with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

Recent developments have sparked concerns among Americans, with 79% expressing worries about Russia not adhering to agreements, according to the Gallup poll.

The surge in support for increased aid to Ukraine is particularly notable among Democrats and Independents, with a significant rise in the percentage of both groups advocating for more assistance.

Republicans, on the other hand, have maintained a relatively consistent view on US support for Ukraine since December.

As the conflict continues, opinions on the war’s outcome are divided, with a majority of Americans believing that neither Russia nor Ukraine is winning.

The Gallup survey, conducted from March 3 to 11, provides insights into the evolving perspectives of Americans on the situation in Ukraine.
