Regina Hall has been announced as the latest addition to the cast of the upcoming Peacock series adaptation of “The Five-Star Weekend,” starring alongside Jennifer Garner. The series, based on the novel by Elin Hilderbrand, follows the story of Hollis Shaw, a renowned food influencer who is grappling with a devastating loss. As she navigates through her grief, Hollis decides to host a weekend getaway on Nantucket with three close friends from different stages of her life, with a surprise fifth guest thrown into the mix.
In this series, Hall will be taking on the role of Dru-Ann Jones, a series regular character who is sure to bring depth and complexity to the storyline. Hall’s impressive TV credits include roles in “The Best Man: The Final Chapters,” “Black Monday,” and “Nine Perfect Strangers” Season 1. She is also known for her work in films such as the “Scary Movie” series, “Think Like a Man,” “Girls Trip,” and “Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul.”
The creative team behind “The Five-Star Weekend” includes creator and writer Bekah Brunstetter, executive producer Beth Schacter, and star Jennifer Garner, who is also serving as an executive producer. Sue Naegle and Ali Krug are also on board as executive producers through Dinner Party Productions, with Elin Hilderbrand joining the team as an executive producer. The series is being produced by UCP, with Dinner Party Productions currently under an overall deal with the studio.
