Conversations on Judicial Overreach and Trump’s Agenda
In a recent appearance on “Sunday Morning Futures,” Rep. Jim Jordan engaged with host Maria Bartiromo to discuss what he termed judicial interference with President Trump’s America First policies.
Bartiromo pressed Jordan on a federal judge’s controversial ruling that halts the deportation of dangerous gang members back to their home countries. Jordan expressed his disbelief, stating, “This judge is saying we shouldn’t send hardened criminals back where they belong. Instead, let’s keep them in the U.S. for evaluation.”
Jordan elaborated on the actions of Judge James Boasberg, who he accused of being excessively lenient regarding falsified documents in cases targeting Trump while simultaneously advocating for the retention of dangerous individuals within U.S. borders. “It’s baffling—this judge wants to welcome back criminals while the American people clearly back President Trump’s stance,” he remarked.
Jordan then transitioned to legislative efforts, revealing, “A few weeks ago, our committee took steps to ensure that decisions made by district federal judges only apply to the parties involved in their respective jurisdictions.” This assertion seemed to suggest a push for limiting the reach of federal judicial rulings, a move that Jordan believes would better align with public sentiment and safety concerns.
FBI Subpoenas and Attempts at Depoliticizing Law Enforcement
Bartiromo also inquired about the status of subpoenas directed at the FBI, aimed at uncovering actions taken during what Jordan described as the corrupt Biden administration. “Yes, we sent out seven subpoenas,” Bartiromo noted, asking if Jordan had received any responses. “We have. First off, let me commend Pam Bondi for her stance on the sanctuary city issue,” Jordan replied.
He continued, “We’ve already seen some compliance from Director Patel, which stands in stark contrast to the evasive responses from figures like Chris Wray and Merrick Garland, who are leading a Justice Department that, in my view, has strayed far from its intended purpose under Biden.”
