Introducing the Roborock Saros Z70: The Robot Vacuum Cleaner with a Robotic Arm

Roborock has made a groundbreaking debut at CES 2025 with the unveiling of the Saros Z70, a robot vacuum cleaner equipped with a robotic arm capable of picking up items left on your floor. While robotic arms are not new to robot vacuums, the Saros Z70 is the first model to feature a robotic arm with a gripper, known as the OmniGrip 1.0, that can pick up small objects weighing up to 300g, such as socks, tissues, pet and baby toys, and light shoes.

The robotic arm on the Saros Z70 is designed with “five-axis” movement, allowing it to extend and move in five different directions from a rotating base. Despite this advanced technology, the Saros Z70 maintains a slim and low profile of 7.98cm, ensuring it can easily clean under various types of furniture.

How does the Saros Z70 pick things up?

The innovative OmniGrip system on the Saros Z70 allows it to identify and pick up small objects during its cleaning sessions. Users can configure the settings in the app to specify which objects the robotic arm should interact with and where they should be placed. Additionally, Roborock plans to release accessories like a bin for rubbish disposal and a cat toy for pet interaction in the future.

We had the opportunity to witness a live demo of the Saros Z70, albeit an earlier version, and while it showed some hesitancy, the performance was impressive. Further testing will provide more insights into its capabilities.

What other features does the Saros Z70 have?

In addition to the robotic arm, the Saros Z70 boasts a range of advanced features:

  • StarSight navigation system for precise mapping and obstacle recognition
  • Machine learning for object identification and avoidance
  • Powerful suction of 22,000 Pa
  • Anti-tangle system to prevent hair from wrapping around components
  • Dual-spinning mops with adjustable height
  • Voice controls and compatibility with smart home assistants
  • VertiBeam Lateral Obstacle Avoidance technology
  • Pet-friendly design with interactive features

The Saros Z70 can be purchased with a standard charging base or the Multifunctional Dock 4.0, offering fast charging, mop washing, and auto mop removal.

When will the Saros Z70 be available to buy?

The Saros Z70 is expected to be available for purchase in the first half of 2025. Pricing details for the UK and US markets have not been released yet, but updates will be provided as soon as they are available.
