Renowned musician Jack White didn’t hold back in criticizing Donald Trump’s response to the recent strikes on Iran. (See White’s scathing comments below.)
In a post on his Instagram page, the White Stripes frontman and vocal Trump opponent quickly called attention to the president’s choice of attire – a white “USA” hat worn during a video announcing the military action.
“Behold the leader of the ‘Board of Peace,'” White quipped, referencing Trump’s initiative for global conflict resolution that has not garnered widespread support.
Mockingly suggesting a casual setting for future war announcements, White joked, “For the next war announcement, Donny, may I suggest having your feet up on the Resolute desk while eating a Big Mac in a velvet track suit?”
White also highlighted the countries that have been targeted by Trump’s rhetoric, including Venezuela, which faced a violent attack earlier this year resulting in the capture of its leaders.
“Venezuela, Greenland, Iran, Cuba – what’s the difference, right?” White remarked.
Continuing his critique, White pointed out that Trump’s family members won’t be on the front lines of any conflict, leaving the burden on others’ children.
In a sarcastic tone, White joked about Trump auctioning off spots on his “Board of Peace” for a hefty sum, questioning why the president has not yet received a Nobel Peace Prize.
White wrapped up his comments by suggesting that perhaps a third term would finally secure that recognition for Trump.
Notably, other celebrities like Rosie O’Donnell and Carrie Coon have also voiced their criticism of Trump’s actions, adding to the chorus of dissent.
